Illustrations
Alexandra Benson works in pen, ink, and colored pencil, creating illustrations that reflect her ever-shifting curiosity. Her subject matter changes day to day, sometimes she's sketching detailed studies of botanicals or insects, other times she's crafting illustrations as foundations for her mixed media pieces. Whether observational or imaginative, her drawings are rooted in an attentiveness to the world around her. Each mark is a moment of exploration, a way of understanding and connecting with her subjects on a more intimate level.
